Caramelized Onions and Prosciutto Pizza

If you love the salty/sweet flavor combination then this recipe is for you, the onions are so sweet and the prosciutto is nice and salty. I  made this pizza yesterday before #2 son returned to college and he instantly fell in love.

Ingredients
Pizza  dough
2 tsp olive oil
1 red onion, thinly sliced
1/4 c brown sugar
2 cups Mozzarella Cheese
6-8 slices Prosciutto

I bought my pizza dough since I had a coupon and I also needed to make this meal in a short amount of time, but of course homemade dough would be much tastier.
On the stove heat up your pan and add a little olive oil at the same time you add onions. Cook until limp, add brown sugar and let cook on the stove for at least 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. You want to get a nice brown caramel on the onions. Remove from heat.
Preheat oven to 400. Roll dough out and place on pizza stone or baking pan. Add 1 cup of cheese to top of crust, place onions liberally around the pizza. Top the onions with slices of Prosciutto, add remaining cup of cheese to top of pizza. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until cheese is bubbly.
Ingredients
Start cooking the onions
Add brown sugar
Keep the stove on med heat
Look at that tasty caramel
Roll out dough and add cheese to top
I left onions off Olivia's side
Place the prosciutto on top
Add more cheese and bake
Enjoy!
