I absolutely love the flavor of cream cheese frosting on cupcakes, I also love how it compliments so many different flavors of cake. This is a fool proof recipe that turns out every single time.
1 lb cream cheese, softened
2 sticks butter, softened
1 tsp vanilla
4 cups powdered sugar
In a large mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese, butter and vanilla together until smooth. Add the sugar and on low speed, beat until incorporated. Increase the speed to high and mix until very light and fluffy. I like to chill my frosting for a little bit before piping onto cupcakes.
